Chinese barbecue pork

Join me for a uniqe chinese barbecue pork recipe
or Char Siu.

"Char Siu" means "roast on fork" It's believed
that the name came from the original way to
cook the pork using the long fork and roast it
in the a covered oven.

Chinese BBQ pork is a typical chinese meal
served all around the world and often served
on top of steam rice or noodle.


Chinese BBQ pork recipe

Ingredients

  • 1kg of lean pork, cut into around-
    3 inches by 5 inches and 2 inches thick
  • 1/2 cup of Japanese soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of light soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 5 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  • 5 tablespoons of honey
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar

Directions

1 Marinate the pork with all the ingredients.
Leave it in the refridegerator for 4-6 hours to over night

2 Preheat the oven at 100 C and roast the pork for around
2-3 hours. Turn and brush the sauce onto the pork occationally.

3 When the pork is done, let it rest out side of the oven
for 5-10 minutes.

Thinly slice it up and serve on top of steam rice or noodle
with gravy from the roasting tray and freshly sliced cucumber.

Serve 7-8
